Artist Biography

Alla Xul Elu is a horrorcore trio out of Portsmouth, Ohio, made up of Billy Obey, Joey Black, and Lee Carver, three H.P. Lovecraft and Evil Dead devotees who perform behind grotesque handmade masks and preach a doctrine of wicked humor, dark mythology, and horror-soaked boom bap. They are also the founders of Long Live Evil, one of the most respected independent labels in the underground horror rap scene today. Billy and Joe broke out in 2015 as a duo, dropping Head of Horns and Sci-Co the same year, then added Lee Carver to the lineup and dropped the weed-and-Cthulhu concept EP Necronomichron in 2017. From there things accelerated quickly, with The Almighty (2018), Church of Xul (2019), Mauxuleum (2020), and Gods of Evil Rise (2022) cementing them as one of the premier acts in horrorcore. Now fully independent under Long Live Evil, they dropped Lost Lake Estates in 2023 and their seventh LP No Masters in January 2026. Their sound has evolved over the years, moving between classic horror boom bap, industrial hip-hop, and trap metal, but the identity has never wavered. The Xul Boys answer to no one.
