Artist Biography
Istasha (also known as Istasha The Scrub) is an independent artist out of Stockholm, Sweden, operating at the far edges of industrial hip-hop, trap metal, and experimental rap. His music is emotionally raw and sonically restless, blending aggressive production with deeply personal lyrics that sit somewhere between confession and confrontation. He hit the ground running in 2019, dropping a string of projects in rapid succession including Down the Infinite Well, Haute Couture / Red Light District, Djuphavsgraven, and the Scrub Tape, establishing himself quickly as one of the more prolific and unpredictable voices in the underground. After a quieter stretch, he returned strong with Swallowing Centipedes in 2023 and The Distortion That Creates Them in 2024, the latter being some of his most focused and well-received work to date. Entirely independent and self-driven, Istasha has built a cult following across the experimental underground through sheer consistency and a refusal to sand down his edges for anyone.
